The Department of Integrative Biology is pleased to announce the second annual Focus on Biology science imaging contest! Focus on Biology celebrates visual explorations of our research in the form of photographs, micrographs, figures, and illustrations.

Contest winners and honorable mentions will be printed and displayed during a Department of Integrative Biology event at the end of the spring 2017 semester (details TBA).

Participation Eligibility: Participants must be formally associated (faculty, staff, student, or other official affiliation) with the Department of Integrative Biology at The University of Texas at Austin during the Spring 2017 semester.

Categories: Each submission will be judged in one of three categories:

Prizes (for each category):

Prize funding will be deposited in a UT account associated with your laboratory and can be used for research, equipment, travel, or entertainment. Funds must be spent within one year.

Submission guidelines:

Judging: Submissions will be evaluated by an external panel of judges unaffiliated with Integrative Biology. Criteria for evaluation include technical competence, composition, and biological interest.

Intellectual Property: Participants retain copyright of all submissions. Participants must have created and hold the rights to any submitted image and assent that submission does not involve third-party claims. Submission to the contest grants the Department of Integrative Biology a non-exclusive, perpetual license to distribute and display the submitted works for non-commercial purposes related to department functions.
