UT Insect Collection's "Insects Unlocked" Creates a Media Buzz

The UT Insect Collection's Insects Unlocked project caught the attention of international media this week with a pair of stories in The Guardian and WIRED:

Insects Unlocked is a crowd-funded initiative to create high-quality images of Texas arthropods free of copyright restrictions. Since 2015, a team of 20 students and community volunteers has generated about 1000 photographs. Many of these images are displayed around the world in museums, classrooms, newspapers, magazines, and commercial advertising. If you would like to join Insects Unlocked, contact entomology curator Alex Wild. The group is currently accepting volunteers for the Fall 2017 semester.
